Description - Description: Trico is a sheep fat-based antacid that is intended for e.g. for protecting coniferous and deciduous trees from damage caused by deer. The Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes) has approved the preparation for use as a plant protec tion agent on 15 June 2012 and the substance does not have a Professional user requirement. The Forestry Research Institute tested the substance in the worst deer density areas of the Kuusamo joint forest. In the experimental plots treated with Trico, it was found that 0–2 percent of the seedlings were eaten by the crown tumor and the branches of the uppermost whorl.
