Description - Description: The island of Vilm is a location of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation and is located south of the port of Lauterbach. Employees and guests arrive and depart using federal motor barges (works transport) between the port of Lauter bach and the jetty on the island of Vilm (approx. 2.5 km away). The federal motor barges are not ice-capable and therefore cannot be used on the aforementioned route when the ice is covered.
