Description - NTS are attempting to identify possible, pre-existing, or established waste routes for materials contaminated by Cs-137 sources. Materials are in physical form and can range from small amounts of contaminated swarf or debris to larger items such as P PE, handling equipment, lifting equipment and ancillary equipment. All of this waste will fall under the standard description of Low-Level Waste or below. The general size of this low-level waste is predicted to be 1m squared. The desired waste route is compliant disposal of the items, with any interim storage and operational requirements specified.
