Description - Description: In 2021, the ʔaq̓am Lands Department began planning the Wetland (ʔakaq̓ⱡaʔhaⱡ) Restoration Project.Community consultation was conducted to pick the wetlands to restore located throughout ʔaq̓am lands.Archeological assessments, species at risk surveys, hydrological studies, and traditional ecological knowledge research has been conducted and has assisted in the wetland restoration project. We are now working on tree removal to help reduce tree encroachment and the amount of water being removed by the trees.
